RUGRA

Repairing Upgrading Global Radar Advance

RUGRA is an initiative born from a group of retired professionals and professors trained at the Army Polytechnic School (1985-1997) and the University of the Armed Forces ESPE (2019-2020). During the armed conflict with one of our neighbours in the 90s, three relevant projects were successfully executed:

  • Design and Construction of a Passive (COMINT) and Active (JAMMING) Electronic Warfare System,
  • Recovery and Commissioning of the RATAC Fire Control Radars (from French origin)
  • Recovery and Modernisation of the Oerlikon System's Frequency Generators del Sistema Oerlikon.

These allowed our members to develop our capacity for Repairing, Maintaining, Updating and Modernising complex defence systems, in a Globalized environment. Since then (1999–2025), we have focused both academically (machine/deep learning and artificial intelligence) and on technological development in the areas of Electronic Warfare, Radar Signal Processors in the military sector, and Real-Time Mobile Surveillance in the civilian sector. Successful results include the implementation of the AVL (Automatic Vehicular Location) system for the Ecuadorian oil industry, restoration and modernisation of the Oerlikon and TPS70 radar systems, and the development of a proposal for the complete modernisation of the OSA-AKM systems.

These last three projects have been developed under a Global and Advanced concept to the integration and control of subsystems originated in America, Asia and Europe with C++ coded software developed 100% by our engineers.

We are a new alternative to find and develop technological solutions for defence systems demands, contributing to the national technological sovereignty of our Country.
